Filter Blocking Tendency Tester

Tamson Instruments

The Tamson Filter Blocking Tendency Tester is an automated device that measures the Filter Blocking Tendency (FBT) of distillate fuels such as diesel, biodiesel (B100, B5–B30), gas oil, kerosene, and turbine fuels. Compliant with ASTM D2068 and IP 387, it helps detect potential filter clogging issues caused by fuel contamination, degradation, or FAME-related cold flow problems. The system features a graphical touchscreen interface that guides users through standardized test procedures for reliable and repeatable results. Fuel is drawn from an integrated reservoir at a constant flow rate, with continuous monitoring of pressure, temperature, and fluid level. The instrument automatically calculates and displays the FBT value, which can be printed and customized through user-defined parameters and calibration settings.
