Sediment Determination by Membrane Filtration in Crude Oil

Tamson Instruments

The ASTM D4807 apparatus determines sediment in crude oils using membrane filtration, validated for samples containing up to 0.15 mass% sediment. The TC16 circulator maintains the sample at 90°C by pumping heated bath oil through a jacketed funnel. The system includes all essential components filter supports, vacuum flask, clamps, tubing, membrane filters, and vacuum pump.

The TC16 safely preheats toluene to 90°C using a built-in safety thermostat, offering a safer alternative to hot plates. The unit provides exceptional temperature stability (±0.02°C) with an adjustable range from 0°C to 250°C and a display accuracy of 0.1°C. Fully CE-compliant, the bath includes a resettable safety thermostat and grounded components for operator protection.
