The Apparatus for Determination of Loss on Heating of Asphaltic Compounds is a convection oven designed for precise testing. It features a benchtop enamel-finished steel case, a stainless steel interior with a plenum fan, and a rotating anodized aluminum shelf.
The oven accommodates temperatures up to 180°C and rotates the shelf at 5.5 rpm using an electronic controlled motor. It includes a microprocessor-controlled thermoregulator with PID action, a Pt100 RTD probe, and a digital display with 0.1°C accuracy. Safety features include a device against overheating and a double-wall window door.
